- In the car yesterday P was singing "Let's call the Whole Thing Off" and making up silly lines and then Fudge pipes up from the back seat - You say poop clamp and I say control freak" I just about exploded I was laughing so hard. I often mention that the boys are being "control freaks" with one another and tell them to cut it out and P has this line that he always says in german and when Calvin tries to repeat he always ends up saying poop clamp at the end. Fudge has a great sense of humour.
- The boys started their day off fighting with one another but I managed to squeeze 4 hugs out of them before they left for school and put a love note in their lunch bags.
- I should be weeding, I love gardening but I hate weeding
- Calvin is having a book launch party this week for the book he wrote at therapy, we are making a big deal about it and he stuck between thrilled and terrified.
- The Children's Mental Health agency that we work with in town is honouring us at their AGM this year as a family who "is doing the work" I go back and forth between being honoured and feeling as though we are not worthy of the honour. We work hard at parenting but oh we have our moments and I struggle with being honoured so publiclaly. I don't think I should mention the threatening to chase my son with a hose to make him run some laps although the therapists do know about this blog...
- We are camping again this weekend, I am looking foward to it in an odd sort of way, nothing like 800 kids camping together to disregulate my kids.
- Oh shit the sprinkler is still on! Gotta go

how do you get those cool check mark bullet thingies? my blogspot is so bland.
anyway, my kids, especially Aspie Boy, get phrases all jumbled up too. I love it. It's hysterical and I never bother to set them straight because it's much more fun to laugh when they get it wrong.
;)
I love that you are being honored. One thing I really appreciate, reading your blog, is that you aren't afraid to be raw and honest...
congrats on the great honor
Poop clamp is so unny - does it mean the term"anal- retentive" from all the freudian psychology
oh my word, funny! poop clamp control freak! lol
But weeding is gardening, sort of. Congrats on your award and being recognized for all the amazing and mundane parenting things that move our children towards wholeness. Good job, J.!
Ok, poop clamp control freak is an awesome addition to that song! Especially from kids with poop issues!
See, you gotta learn from your kids use of language. Instead of "threatening" your kid with the hose, you "used a natural resource as a motivator".
