Monday Moments

  • it's Monday, the boys are at school, I am enjoying every minute of my day or trying to
  • I have 2 adoption month open houses with CAS to do this week and although I have already done all the work and am looking forward to them I am tired just thinking about having to be that social 2 days in a row.
  • I am working on an advent calender that I think is great and I can't wait to show you all, it has toys and calming messages
  • I made over 200 cabbage rolls this weekend and have to make at least that many perogies before out charity christmas party on the 5th of December.
  • Fudge started his day badly and therefor I started my day badly. I feel bad for getting so frustrated with him.
  • Calvin has therapy this week, we have only recently started him back at therapy after a summer break and I ready to pick up the pieces for days after.
  • Fudge does not have therapy this week as his therapist is in Australia - lucky duck, the therapist I mean.
  • Calvin has moved to the top bunk and is testing my patience at bedtime to see if I really will take the bunk beds down. I am so tempted to!
  • Fudge's FASD assesment is not happening anytime soon ( waiting lists) and I really wish that it would happen sooner rather than later so I could push for some more services for him, like OT/PT so he can stop tiptoe walking and loosen up his arms. But we can't fix him until we know he is broken - good logic on the "systems" part don't ya think
  • I need to create some routine charts for Fudge to make things go smoother because the forgetting the routines is goign to drive me to drink, oh wait it already has :)
  • I am really craving something sweet and we are out of chocolate, I must fix that!

What are the open houses/CAS??? We are on a Foster/Adoption Recruitment Committee with DFS in our state and are looking for ways to "spread" the word and increase visibility...We just did this T-Shirt thing called HANGING TOGETHER where foster families wrote their answers to the question "What do you wish for" on a TShirt and we displayed them on a clothesline at the courthouse on National Adoption Day. It was pretty cool. Anyhow - curious to hear what you do in your state.

Chocolate. Never be without it. First rule of survival. :)
