oh my

You will never guess what my boys did this morning... I am still laughing and the person on the other end of the phone did not really think that it was funny but I sure did.

Let's back up

About 10 minutes ago the phone rang, we have call display and there was a pit in my stomach the moment I saw that it was the school bus company. I answered the phone thinking that I was going to hear about Calvin hitting, kicking, spitting, being rude, something along those lines but no it was none of those things. The bus driver was calling to let me know that I should be expecting a call from the schools because the children missed the bus this morning ( there was no reason to miss the bus they left in plenty of time to make it to the end of the driveway). They missed the bus this morning but instead of coming back to tell us they missed the bus they decided to walk to school along the HIGHWAY, a major highway where cars are driving past at 100km/h and anyone could of stopped and taken them to god only knows where.

Luckily for me another bus came by and picked them up and took them to school,  ( I am still giggling)  and I am sure she lectured them along the way about how unsafe it is to try to walk to school. Now I must take some credit for this little escapade because we have threatened to make them walk if they miss the bus and so I guess they decided I would be mad and so they best start walking.

But oh my goodness walking along the highway all the way to school, it's a few km away and I can't even imagine how long it would of taken them to get there and I had no idea. I tried to explain to the bus driver who called that really I understood the serious nature of her call and I would talk to them because it was a safety concern and such but since I could not stop laughing I don't think she believed me. It will be interesting to see if the schools actually call me or just realise that this is life with my boys and lets it go.

Nothing is ever boring around here

PS I made 100 more perogies yesterday and today I am cleaning and building a step for the front door because in case you missed it we are having 85 people over on Saturday!

and I am still giggling!

HA, I can just imagine the conversation they would have had LOL!

I think I will not be able to make it for perogie dinner. It does appear to be an awfully long drive.

Hi. Wanted to introduce myself. I just discovered your blog, and am finding lots of value here, ranging from ideas to laughs.

I'm also an adoptive mother of two boys, roughly the same ages as yours: P turns 10 in January, B just turned 8 in October (they're 21 mos apart). We adopted them from Ukraine in 2005. P has RAD, B has some learning issues. Some days are a struggle. I can relate to stealing, deception, raging. Both boys have made huge strides. P and school are a fun combo. We are in Canada (Winnipeg).
